More than an artistic project, it is built as a journey of research, sensitivity, and belonging a way of looking at the flora of the Caatinga not only as landscape, but as memory, knowledge, and identity.

Through field experience, attentive observation of the landscape, and the study of species in their natural habitat, each record is transformed into art. The line is born from observation, and art also becomes a way of documenting, understanding, and valuing our biome.

The Field Journal had already been taking shape for some time, even before receiving this name and a more defined structure. Observing the flora, recording species, and studying the forms, colors, and delicate details of the field were already part of my journey. There was a constant search to understand the landscape and transform this experience into drawing, graphite, and watercolor. However, there was still no clearly established method no conscious path that could organize this process in a deeper and more intentional way.

Now, this method takes form and begins to guide each stage of the work: from field experience, direct observation, and encounters with species in their natural habitat, to botanical study, drawing, and the final construction of the artwork.

What once happened in a more intuitive way is now organized as a path, research, and language.

The Caatinga Field Journal thus becomes not only a space for creation, but also a method of investigation, sensitivity, and belonging. The other stages of this process are presented in the following carousel:
