Finding New Perspectives

Last week, the botanical watercolor “Meeting Mariana”, inspired by the species Commelina erecta, was featured in the 10th UNEB Art Exhibition in Juazeiro, Bahia, Brazil.
The artwork emerged from field observations, graphite studies, notes, and watercolor exercises developed throughout several encounters with the species.
Seeing this painting occupy an exhibition space was a special experience. More than presenting an artwork, it was an opportunity to share a glimpse of the beauty of the Caatinga flora and of the paths that observation can take before transforming into art.

Some encounters stay with us, while others keep finding new eyes to behold them.
